Surreal Bermuda

Gunner’s Bay Park, Bermuda.

Autumn in Bermuda is like a surrealist piece of art.

Gunner’s Bay and Gunner’s Point are both located on the north side of St.David’s Island, overlooking the old ship channel into St. George Harbour. Their names refer to the early defense scheme advised by Bermuda’s first Governor, Richard Moore, whereby the guns of Smith’s Forth on Governor’s Island and those of Fort Paget on Paget Island created a murderous crossfire against vessels attempting to force entry to the colony’s old capital.
